For me, reading is a cheap escape.

To get lost and fade away in this mental happy place.

And, when it comes to choosing the right book?

I’ll read the back cover — Usually with one eye closed or squinting like I’m defusing a bomb.

Because when I go from not knowing anything to knowing everything... it’s over.

No butterflies? no tears?

Ruined.

This should be a crime.

I started journaling when I was a kid.

(I confess, I needed a place to write down the boys I was going to marry and how cute my first name looked with their last).

Writing turned into reading, reading to blogging — and here I am.
